Hows it going gents im new to this board and it seems there is an unrivled wealth of knowledge here.

I have what I would hope to be a fairly simple question I need answer'd if possible.

I have a 45 gallon tank with a fluval 205 canister filter that is supplemented by a penguin 400 bio wheel power filter, 200 watt glass heater, Cant remember what my air pump is but its rated for a 100 gal tank 18" under gravel airstone, dual PC light system with 50/50 set up (one Actinic 420 and one White) medium gravel substrate with a couple of lava rocks Tank has been running for over a year with a consistant PH of 7.2 and Nitrate at 1.5 PPM. The tank is currently stocked with 5 opaline gouramis, 5 gold gouramis, 2 neon blue dwarf gouramis, and an albino pleco. all of these fish have been together for over a year. Up untill just recently I had 6 golds but one passed away and im curious as to what you all think might have caused it so I can try to avoid a repeat in the future. The fish lost quite a bit of size and color turning almost completely white before passing away. He would just sit on the bottom of the tank near the gravel and would not eat. Im wondering if perhaps since I bought these fish when they were babys and they have now reached adult size if perhaps my tank has gotten to small and in need of a larger tank. All of my fish have gotten quite a bit more aggresive lately chasing each other all around the tank, trying to nip fins and stuff of that nature. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes definately, I'd upgrade to ad least a 75 for all those big gouramis. Also he may have suffered from Fish Tuberculosis, a bacterial disease that is normally not very contagious. A fish can live with it for years if it is healthy and finally succumb. At the height of infection, the fish loses color and appaetite and becomes emaciated.
