Yep,I'd echo the above,I've got a group of 6 of these honey dwarf gouramis. They're not the true ones, but imo, much prettier.(Is yours a pale fondant orange colour or silver?Silver are the true ones).
Mine were very shy at first but are real characters now and nothing phases them.I'd say mine were fully grown and are only about half the size of my brother's dwarf gouramis (powder blue etc).
Mine seem to be happy in their little gang, there's a lot of display but no aggression. They were all the same colour when I got them, but keep an eye out for changes.
What I believe to be the males (I'm fairly certain),will firstly show an opal blue translucent edge to the dorsal fin (what I assume are females have a thin red edge),then a few black scales will start appearing on the gill covers, followed by a black band developing in the anal fin.
This is my experience with these guys,in the lfs they were all pretty stressed out and pale and about the only way you could make any kind of guess on sex is that some appeared to have the very thin red line on the dorsal and others didn't.
I'm still watching mine avidly though,I believe I have 4 males and two females.I've had them about a month now,no breeding attempts yet,but if they do,I'll make sure and list the difference in colouration for one of the sticky threads as I've found there really isn't that much specific info on these guys on the net.
One of my guys:
Looks a bit washed out there as it was up near the light. They are very orange now,and btw,in the lfs, they will probably ALL have a horizontal band on them, this is a stress colouration,so don't take that as any sign of sex when buying. These bars will disappear once they are in the tank and settled.
