Honey Gourami

Well, I just did a 30% water change and added some stuff to lower the PH. The fish seems to be regaining its color. Thanks for the replies and help.

I wouldn't use the chamical again, as the pH will likely swing. They lower the pH, but not KH, thus the pH will bounce, as it is the KH of the water that deturmins the pH. Unstable pH is worse for any fish, than a constant pH that is not ideal. If you realy want to drop the pH, you will need to look at RO units. Add half RO to half Tap water when you do waterchanges. RO units start from arround £50 and up depending on the size you get :good: IMO it isn't worth messing with the pH unless you realy know what you are doing. Moving the pH requires knowlage at a-level standord as a minimum, for consistant and reliable results  This type of knowlage will need to be obtained throuh research. It took me about 6 weeks to figure out how to move the pH safely. The 50-50 mix won't always work to get the required results, so lowering the pH can also be fiddely, tweaking the mix at waterchange time to ensure the water is right, as the tap water quality may not always be consistant :good:

All the best
