Homemade Background For A 2.5 Gallon Tank?

I was looking for info on making caves for cichlids and i saw a link for a DIY 2.5 gallon background made out of styrofoam. Isn't styrofoam supposed to be toxic to fish? It was made out of one of those minnow containers.

Polystyrene foam is non toxic, so it is fine

Build a moss wall and let nature shape it. I would of done it out of fibre glass over a wire frame personally but each to their own.
