Does any one have home remiedes to curing find rot! i Have meds but there not working And id like to try home remides

don't know of anything, but the causse could be from your water, you should get a hospital tank up and running soon. (just an empty 10 gallon with filtration air and heater )

The salt treatment is a home remedy that can cure fin rot, ich, fungus, velvet, popeye, and a bunch of other fish diseases. Corys and water plants don't really like it though!

My goldfish has the finrot he is a 11 years old and i dont want him to die, and the stupid meds wont work!!!!!!!!!! I NEED HELP!!

buy some colloidal silver at the health food store,it's pretty expensive but that's the only thing I ever use to treat my fish

is colloidal silver the same thing as Silver nitrate? a colloidal soultion is just suspended particals of silver. I know that silver nitrate will cure eye "googers" on cats/dogs/livestock. The reason i ask is because silver is generaly a neutral metal by its self it dont do much.

snotirl,it's a brown liquid in a little brown bottle,sometimes the color of the liquid is clear but it gets darker if you purchase a higher ppm(points per million)
Silver is basically a germ destroyer, I use it @ 500 ppm directly in my tanks and when acclimating new fish and it's never affected my readings because it only kills bad bacteria

Zak~ I dunno what silver nitrate is ,but if it's silver in a colloid then it's probably pretty close.If you can get your hands on water soluble silver, that works even better,but since it's usually found with a bunch of other stuff such as copper etc.. it's pretty hard to come by

Aqua salt and starving fish works for me!

I only starve the fishies for about 2-3 days
