Hi all,
I've got a dwarf gourami in my community tank, which has been very peaceful until recently. I've got my single gourami, a male guppy, six GloFish, a molly, and two otos. I only added the otos a couple of days ago. Is it possible they're causing this damage to my gourami? I've never had any problem with nipping in the past, and I'm quite sure it isn't fin rot. I've got a smaller tank currently cycling, and I'd hoped to avoid adding fish for quite a while, but I'm concerned that he may die from stress if I don't move him. He's so scared that he's hiding in a decoration and won't even come out to greet me like he usually does. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Please help me save my baby
Edited to add:
I moved him into my 10 gallon tank, and it seems like I've done the right thing. I got a closer look at him, and he's got a bloody injury near his anal fin. He already seems more comfortable and has started swimming around exploring, not "rocking" back and forth near the heater like he was when I netted him out of the large tank.
Edited, again, to add:
I woke up to find that he'd passed away.
