I currently have a 2 gallon aquarium with good oxygen flow and im housing my male crowntail betta fish in
ive been noticing some algae build up in the tank
and im wondering if i could possibly put some shrimp in the tank with him
about 2 ghost shrimp would suffice i believe
would this be okay?

not sure, lol
just green algae
either way shrimp would help keep the tank clean
just need to know if bettas are usually okay with ghost shrimp or not

Not necessarily. Not all kinds of shrimp eat all kinds of algae. They might keep the algae very clean, but not actually eat it.

Plus, the best person to keep your tank clean is you.

In principle, the betta should be fine with larger shrimp, but is likely to eat shrimplets. However, some males are bolshy and won't tolerate anything in their space, even if it's clearly not a threat like a shrimp or snail. Only thing you can do is try it and have a back up plan in case it doesn't work out.

However, if you've an algae problem then really you should look to try to sort that out by addressing the cause, rather than covering it up by introducing something to clear it up. There's an algae guide in the PARC link in my sig perhaps you could have a read through it and see if you can ID the algae.
