I am going to pick up a trio of limia melanogaster on monday and I was wondering if I can house them together with Ameca splendens.

They are Poecillidae so they won't crossbreed right?

They are called "Blue Limias" and I was wondering how to take care and breed them.

Their easy to breed and yes they are the "blue limia"

Their happy in groups and love most waters with now special condations.

They leave the fry as well (well most of them) and give the brine shrimp and their do well

Ameca splendens are ok, get a little fin nippy as they get older but in a 3ft tank their be fine, under that you may get problems from the Ameca's

Helter

I'll put them into the ameca tank to see what happens. If they get nippy, then I'll put them in with my gudgeons

I keep the related Limia perugia in with my amecas with no problem--and no crossbreeding--at all. Been there about 3months, and has worked great so far.
