Higher Form Parasite Med?

Long thin like hair can be anchor worm.
There in as interpet med for anchor worm anti crustaceon med by interpet, but it completely wipes the benefical bacterial out in the filter.
Long thin strands of cotton can also be columnaris.

Would have thought Ancor worm most likely, I have dealt with columnaris many times.... -_-

Are there any meds that wouldn't wipe the filter bacteria? If not, I assume that quarrenteen treatment is out of the question? I'm sure that with a 335l tank I'm not kean on going down the fish-in cycling route, especialy with discus

Thanks Wilder

Wormer plus is meant to treat anchor worm and also is dosn't wipe the benefical bacteria out.

But if it is as good at treating flukes as treating these ancor worms, I would bet that they will still be here after treatment  I was TBH rather disapointed with that stuff. It didn't clear the flukes when I used it, and since numerous discus keepers have told me that they were loosing fish to worms, even after the fish had been treated with this wormer on a monthly basis -_- I have lost faith in this med, but thanks for the recomendation :good:

I'm not sure if I will bother treating it. After a large waterchange and carbon being added to the filter (curtsy of family overfeeding the fish for me  ) the spots appear to be clearing themselves without treatment. If things carry on like this, I will leave the fishes immune systems to fight wheatever this is, rather than treating. Should make them more resiliant to picking it up again hopefuly.

I'll review the situation again daily over the comming weeks, and if they come back I'll use the wormer plus :good:

Thanks again Wilder, you're a star :hyper:

Never used the wormer plus but I heard that its not that good so might not recommned it anymore.
You can remove anchor worm with tweezers, you have to dab the wound afterwards with methylene blue or melafix.
Look under anchor worm.
