Yeah, I was thinking of getting some Shell Dwellers, but they seem uncommon and I doubt I'll see them in my local pet stores. I could at least call them and see, though. Another problem is that I have red cherry shrimp, but I could move those to a spare 5 gallon that was going to hold a betta fish. So I guess if I could find some shell dwellers then everything would be fine.Shell dwelling cichlids, eg. Neolamprologus multifasciatus (Banded Shell Dweller, or often just "Multi")! They'd love the hard water. Very few fish are as interesting to watch as these, in my opinion, and you can fit 4 - 5 in a 10 gallon tank. I've been wanting to set up a tank for them myself, got a bag of shells ready for it even, but the LFS just never seems to get them and I'm scared of ordering fish online.
Can anyone tell me some fish that can live in a pH level of 8.4 in a 10 gallon tank? Thanks.
