Hi, everyone . Just looking for some good advice on my fishless cycle which i started 2 days ago.

80l tank

fluval 2 plus filter
rena smart heater 100 watts set at 30 degrees thermometer says the same.
ph 7.8
ammonia 8.0
nitrite 0
nitrate between 20- 40 my tap water read this also.

I have been using homebase ammonia 9.5% solution and on my first day added it to get a reading of 4.0 mg/l but when i tested it this morning it had risen to 8.0 i am now not sure on what to do. Any help would be grateful from all you old wise heads.LOL

do a 50% water change to dilute the ammonia levels in the tank. You want to keep the ammonia levels below 5ppm otherwise the filter bacteria won't grow.

I have done a 50% water change ammonia down to 4ppm. So now do i test ammonia every 24 hrs and top up if need be.

Welcome redevilman.
I see you have already started to get advice from Colin T. If you follow what he tells you things usually will go well.
