Do you think this is enough hiding space for fry?
This is the main area. Plants with lots of marbles!
Next is a small cave.

these things are fine but a suggestion would be to add some more plants, artiicial or live this would give them more of a natural environment to survive in, you will find that the odd object lying around will temp other fish to hover around that object waiting for fry to come out slighty and then they will gobble them up. really pack your tank up with plants and this will definately work in your favour

Like the others said, it would be good to add more plants. Personally, I only have a couple of fake plants, bu I also have LOTS of places for them to hide, such as big flat stones covering the tank that they can squeeze under or in between, some little figurines they can hide under, some pebbles that they can hide in between, and some miniature tea cups they can fall into. You can really just use some common household items, just make sure they are safe for the fish.

That is perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 I would try somemore plants and if you take a filter sponge and lay it on the grave/sand the babies will hid under it and have a place to hide. So, they wont have to come out( that is what happend to my baby cons!!

I live in illinois, so it does come by. Just ask you lfs to special order it and if they wont, tell them in a really loud voice that you are going to the other petstore becasue they always carry what I want and arn't rude to me! They will practically eat outof your hands if you order from them!!!!! MUAHHHHHHAHHHHHHHAHHHHHHAHHHHHAHHHHHHAHHHHHAHHHHHAHHHHAHHHHHAHHHHAHHHHAHHHHAHHHAHHAHHHHAHHHHAHHHHAHHHAHHHHAHHHAHHHHAHHHHHAHHHHAHHHHAHHHHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WORKS EVERY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol. I don't know if I'll ask to special order it since I have 3 lfs stores around here! Your idea is good and I've used it in the past with things like Comcast/Verizon.

I live near where you do, and I've always had problems finding Java Moss too, heh. What I normally end up doing isn't as effective, but still does work.

If you have some aquatic plants that have a heavily developed root system, you can... unearth them, a bit. Just pull them up a tiny bit, an inch at most. Most of the larger plants that I have have CRAZY roots that tangle every which way, and for my baby fish, it always seems like enough.
Any plant that is on the bushier side can help a great deal. There's a lot of plants that have those fanned out, fine leaves... they drive me crazy cause they shed a lot, but they can be immensely helpful as well. Plant a whole corner of your tank, or let some float up at the top if they don't need to be planted - this gives the fry a lot more room and options when running from the larger fish.

Central Jersey, perhaps? If you do in fact get them to stock something like Java Moss... Tell me when & where, please! ;)

I'll have to check. Last time I checked they were out and only had Amazon Sword and a couple other ones. Hopefully they'll have some!

Kribensis, when you say filter spongedo you mean the thing around the charcoal or the other sponge?

Actually I do live in Central Jersey! Lawrenceville to be exact! Are you in Trenton or Hamilton?

Ok. I can't really do that though since it would potentially destroy all of my beneficial bacteria.

marbles have always worked for me, but ive found live plants closey planted together (real or fake) have the best survival rate, java moss probally being the most sucessful,

Yep, that's what I'm going to do. If you look at the first picture you'll see tons of marbles with a fake Parrot Feather Plant over it! I'll probably put the Java moss over if I can find it. Not the prettiest thing to do but has a good survival rate for fry!
