Hiding Discus

Recently changed over from a gravel and wood set up to sand, wood and plants. Looks much better but the discus are now hiding. I kinda guessed this would happen really, but is it normal, or are they just adjusting to the new setup?

how long has it been since the changeover?
are water stats all ok?

My guess is that they just need time to adjust, try leaving the light off for a day and see if they start to venture out more,
once they are comfortable in their new surroundings they will start to relax and act more like what your are used to seeing

Only been a day since change over, they have a lot more places to hide now, were hiding yesteray but came out a bit.

Ok ill turn lights off and let them get used to it

I'd say they were adjusting to there new surrounding. everytime i've moved mine they have hid and been off there food for a few days

Thought as much, i know they are quite fussy but the tank looks soooooo much better so hope they appreciate it

yeah I added about 50 plants to my tank and I never saw my smallest discus for about a week, was starting to think I had buried it under plants when it swam out

Lol mine are pretty big so they cant hide that well, fun game for a snowy day tho, spot the discus
