Hey guys. Thanks for the help btw, But i have a question. I have had been giving a 120l tank (i think or 125l or something) and wanted to add some fish, No idea what yet, but wanted to ask about cycling. My questions are as following
1) I have added sand to my tank, and havnt added water yet, But ive cleaned it out several times, Will my water cloud up when water is added to tank? if so anything you can do about it?
2) Would an Airpump increase the time for the tank to cycle?
3) How long roughly should the tank cycle (I mean roughly, I know when all stats are right but rough time would be great just give me an estimate)
4) When during the cycle lets say day 3, Could i add a fish or two? to harden the water or would that be very silly?
5) Any other advise really greatful!

Thanks for the time guys! really greatful you could spare your time for me, Sorry again if someone has asked all this

Take care :)

1) Expect it to cloud alittle but its normal and will settle after a day or two.

2) An air pump would be beneficial to the cycling process.

3) took me around a month.

4)let the tank cycle completely then continue to add ammonia for a week after for the bacteria to stabalize.

5) Get a liquid test kit :good:

hope that helps

Welcome Burningstorm. You are about to begin the very hardest thing in fishkeeping. You are starting to do your cycle. The hardest part about cycling is not the testing or the water changes or any of the technical stuff. The very hard part when you have a tank set up is to look at an empty tank long enough to actually finish the cycle before you put your fish in it. Unless you can get some filter media from an established tank's filter to jump start things, that can easily go on for a month or more.

agreed, it's worth while though so do stick with it! usually takes 4-6 weeks but it varies.
