Hi! I am new to TTF. I have a betta fish named Gru who i have had for about six months. I think he was about a year old when I got him at PetCo, I'm not sure though. He started out as a light blue and white butterfly betta, with white and black marbled on the top of his head. As he has grown older and bigger though, his color changed to a darker blue. Still light, but not quite Carolina blue. The white scales on his head also turned black. He appears to have small scales that grew over the bottom and top of his eyes. he can still see fine though, the scales don't cover much of his eyes. He is a halfmoon tail betta. I have had two bettas before him, and neither of them are as big as he is now. His mouth is a bit strange, with his bottom lip sticking out and overlapping his top. You can actually see his teeth if you look up close.
Recently though (within the past couple of days) he has become constipated and is beginning to get sbd (swim bladder disease) from this. I am going to clean his tank water, fast him for two days, then give him an eighth of a thawed frozen pea. He is breathing somewhat slowly, but not rapidly, or heavily. Could you guys let me know if there is anything else I can do to help him with this? Thanks!
