Hi, my parents bought my son some fish this year. We are not sure what gender they are and if this one is female and if so pregnant or overfed? Heres a pic, any help greatly appreciated! Thanks! Toby

She is female. If you can get a photo of he side, with her abdomen not blocking it I can help you see if she is pregnant.

Definitely a female and 99% sure she’s pregnant. She seems to be squaring off on the bottom so shouldn’t be long. The one behind her seems to be guarding her so it could be the Daddy. If you want the babies, either have lots of plants and hiding places or move the fry as soon as they are born. Otherwise, the parents will make a tasty snack out of them.
