Hi-Lite aquarium lighting

I was at my local pet store the other day when I picked up a aquarium hi-lite for fish set, it contains a blue and green LED light and goes in the water and shines really nice when its dark, my question is, I have been using my flouresant light during the day and when i go to bed i put on the hi lite on. the light isnt TOO bright really, but you can see what is going on in the tank and alot of shadows.

My question is, is this okay for the LED lights to be on a night? my fish seem okay and have actually been more frisky and have been moving around very healthy since I put the system in. I just dont know if it needs to be all dark for the fish to rest properly....

I think the fish are just fine with the Hi-Lites on at night. Just think of a full moon if they are in the wild - would be just as bright.
