Hi, Im Totally New

Hi im 25 from UK

Totally new to the fishkeeping world

Always wanted to try but never got around to it

Ordered a new tank (100l) kind of wish i got bigger now as where it currently is could easily had another 2 feet, oh well that can be a future attemp

Think i pretty much got everything
Heater 100w, filter at 600lph, gravel, live plants, big bottle of sechem prime, ammonia, 6 live plants for now, few small ornaments. Test kit, digital thermometer

Been doing a fishless cycle for the last week, unable to fully test accuratlely as the test kit is a strip not liquid( i know, my mistake ) hopefully master test kit arrives tomorrow


So for the last week and abit i been reading these forums alot to build up my knowledge and learn what i can.

Hope theres still more to learn : )

Welcome to the site Petie,you will find all the info and help you need on this site,I started with a 95 ltr tank and its a good size to start with,now moved on to a 200ltr ,biggest my small flat will take,what sort of fish you gonna keep?

Only thing i really thought of so far is neon tetra's - probably around 10

The missus wants an Angel fish and i was thinking of a betta fish later on to finish off

Still just looking around really to see what my 3 lfs have
Theres a fourth lfs but i'm not really happy on the care there, ive not seen any problems but this place has imo to many fish, must be 100+ tanks and all very overstocked imo and the tanks dont look to clean and come to think of it i didnt see 1 quarantine tank

The tanks on the line between able to have an angelfish and not, but i'd say it's just too small. Angelfish with a Betta isn't a good idea as the betta may fin nip and the angelfish would give it back

Bristlenose plecos are fantastic cleaners. I've got two in a 125 litre and i have never even seen algae in that tank
