hello im tayler the noob...
I want a new fw aquarium.....
i need you to give me links and advice because i will kill my fish on accident if i do not no how to care for them...
i realies that the best way i can learn how to take care of a tank is to ask for your advice and read onthe forums...
My freind who you may know as proud texan has gotten me into the hobby.
He used to be a member here... and he says that he annyoed you guys and is sorry.
His sw tank is doing great and has be thriving. He is agrivated with the people who say that sw tanks are too expensive and much harder than fw. While they definatly are very expensive they are not as hard to care for s the people who say that they are hard say.
I am thinking of getting a 40 gal planted and he has already helped me on equipment and fish selection so i need your help on how to care for it :good:

hi there and welcome to the forum, the best thing you can do to start out is read read read!

if you look in my sig there's a series of links, you should take the time to read through them all.

Here's my few pointers for sucessfull fishkeeping

1 - learn about cycling, if you don't understand how to cycle a tank then you'll never have a healthy tank so have a good read through all the links about cycling and make sure you understand it

2 - stock sensibly - never just rush in and buy a fish without knowing about it, make sure you research fish choices carefully and you'll end up with happy tank inhabitants

3 - regular maintenance - there's a link in my sig for weekly maintenance, make sure you keep on top of things and everything should run smoothly

4 - overfiler - in virtually every situation bigger is better for filtration! so make sure yours is up to scratch.

5 - patience is a virtue - there's some things in fishkeeping that just take time, trying to cut corners and speed things up can lead to disaster, so take a little time and learn to sit back and wait for some things.

So practically what you should do is have a good read through the pinned topics, post up a thread with details of what you have so far and what you are planning and we can start working with you from there to get the tank set up and running smoothly
