Hi I Am New Here

hello all.I have one betta boy named Nemo.I got him form petco.he looked right at me.How could i not buy him.I love him dearly.I plan on getting more bettas but i want to order them off the internet.I am betta crazy.

Ok glad your going to get more but you have done your home work on them havn't you ? i dont know alot but one thing is for sure you cant have more then 1 Male in the same tank as they will fight.

What you should do is have 1 Male & 3 Females so as to give the females a break now and then from the 1 Male, take a read of these post's ( CLICK HERE ) as you'll find out some stuff on keeping them and so on.

actually, it isn't recommended that you keep males and females together at all unless you have had a lot of experience with keeping bettas and have a heavily planted tank. It's definately not a task for those who are new to fish keeping.

Welcome to the forums. It is best to keep your male away from females as stated above unless for breeding purposes, but that shouldn't be taken lightly. You're betta will be content by himself for the most part.

Yea i wouldnt keep the male and 3 females together but the females could stay together in a tank of like 10 gallons or more. If you do decide to keep the females together then dont be too worried when they start to make their pecking order because their fins may get torn or bitten a little but that will end and the fins will heal and they will be fine.
