I have been in the tropical fish/aquarium hobby for the past 47 years. Over the years, I have bred over 300 species of tropical fish ranging from the common guppy to the most exotic African cichlids. It gives me great pleasure to educate up and coming young people in the hobby. Of course, any age can reap the benefits of the aquatic atmosphere! I also am a avid writer of tropical fish articles at Suite 101.com and have over 300 publish both in print and on the web.

Over the past 15 years, I've raised and tamed various breeds of birds from tiny finches to large parrots. Just like a new parent, I've been up all hours of the night hand-feeding baby birds. I would say that the most fulfilling aspect of raising birds is to take very tame birds to hospitals and let the patients interact with these fascinating creatures.

I'm an avid collector and re-seller of comics, horror and science fiction movies. It's very rewarding to find treasures in thrift stores, book stores and garage sales.

Great to hear your also interested in birds as well as fish, I have a 5m (L) x 4m(d) x 2m(h) avairy divided up into three bays and currently keep Cockatiels, king quail, cordon blues, ruddies, red stars and gouldians so I hope you also make your way to the non fish section of the forum. I have raised/ rescued heaps of birds usually for future release back into the wild so I can appreciate the hours you've put into raising young birds.
Ps. would love to visit British Columbia it looks so beautiful but fianaces wont strech that far so PLEASE post any good pics you have of your area.
