Well I’ve been hanging around over on another forum but that’s down at the moment and so had a hunt around and came across this one so thought I would join here too.

Anyway I’ve only got a small tank at the moment (Fluval Edge) which is currently fishless cycling (well I hope it is) as I added ammonia on Saturday but im yet to see it go down! Fingers crossed there's some action soon but to help someone has kindly donated some of their filter media which I will pick up at the weekend which fingers crossed will give the tank a big boost!

Welcome to the best forum! ;)

to this TFF, daymouse!
It will take a good week before you see a drop in ammonia level - if you want  to read about fishless cycling on here, follow the link at the bottom of my signature and navigate to Fishless Cycling - it will give you some idea what to expect. Most of us these days aim for an ammonia level of 2-3ppm when fishless cycling tho rather than the 5ppm suggested.
Don't be afraid to ask questions on here if you get stuck. We're quite a friendly bunch and willing to help where we can.

Hello & welcome!
I'm from Manchester also.
What fish shops have you been using?

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Well I've been buying all over the show mainly Abbys in Stockport and Timperly Aquatics as worked there over 10 years ago back in my teens so keep getting a little discount

. Ive also popped into Urmston one (just next to M60) but not bought anything yet.

Where do you go and where do you recommend when it comes to fish purchasing?

I've been to the one in urmston a couple of times. I really like one in Salford calls "oasis". Staff are good & the places is spotless. Well worth a visit.
