hi im new to the forum and new to fish keeping ive had my tank for about 5 weeks ive got 2 oscars, 4 tinfoil barbs, 2 plecos 1 12inches other 3 inches 3 clown loach, 2 bala sharks, 2 ruby sharks.

Hello and :hi: to the forum.

no its my second tank its 5x2x2
welcome to the forum :)

im affraid to say that your tank is no way big enough for those fish

2 oscars - the tanks not big enough for 2 adult oscars
4 tinfoil barbs - the same applies
2 plecos 1 12inches - sounds like a common or gibbi pleco and should be fine
other 3 inches - depending on what it is should be fine
3 clown loach - get big but should be fine
2 bala sharks - possibly dont get too big but need more room as they are very active fish
2 ruby sharks - no issues with size here but they will both need a teritory to patrol

are your fish juvis or adults?
im sorry to be the one to tell you but someone will have and the sooner the better really.

i know a person who had 5 oscars in a 5ft tank and they lived to be 18 years old

i completely agree

then they obviously had no consideration into their fishes wellfare. oscars can grow up to 12-14 inches and can be very nasty fish especially with other oscars. they are also very messy fish with their waste and the way they eat so to house 5 oscars in a 5ft tank would have needed very large amounts of filtration..... some oscars will get along with each other especially if grown up together but 5 in a tank of that size is ridiculous. they would have had no where to retreat and get away from it all and i imagine they must have been very stressed out..... i am amazed they lived for 18 years

ive just been on your profile and i see you have alot of tanks and that you have won tank of the year so i guess your right how big shall i get one

if you want to keep all of those fish i would get an 8x3x3 minimum. but more realistically rehome some of the bigger fish and keep what you have. you could get away with from your stocking

1 x oscar
1 x pleco
3 x clown loaches
1 x ruby shark

depending on the fish sizes the ruby shark could become oscar lunch. the clown loaches will need areas that the oscar cant get to to hide away in, even these can get to 12 inches when fully grown. if your fish are small juvis then you have some time on your side but the oscars will grow very fast compared to the other fish in the tank so be carefull. the only safe fish will be the large pleco.
i would remove the bala sharks and tinfoil barbs as there really wont be any room for them and they will get big. keep 1 ruby shark with caution that it could get eaten, 2 sharks will become aggressive with each other and you may get away with 2 in a 5x2x2 but personally i would just keep 1 to save any hassle later on. plecos grow very slow too so the smallest 1 may also become oscar lunch pretty soon and if it doesnt grow over 6 inches then i wouldnt trust it in with the oscar when its grown.

what sizes are your fish?
