Hi people! I'm new here and I just thought I would introduce myself:
I have 13 pets :hyper: : 4 hermit crabs, 2 skirt tetras, 2 oto catfish, 1 neon tetra, 1 cardinal tetra, 1 water snail, 1 male CT betta, and my newest addition, 1 male VT betta.
I live in USA (VA)

Anyways, I have a Q. My newest betta (the VT) is a gray-blueish color. His tail is like really short and has a brownish grim at the end. I have been treating him daily for 2 days w/ bettafix. Is this fin rot? If so, is there anything else I could do to help him regrow and heal his tail?

Thanks!

a picture would be helpful and a word to the wise, betta fix is essentially melafix, just buy melafix for now on, but that should take care of fin rot if that is what is. see if you can't get a picture of him though and post it here so i can take a better look.

Hi

A picture would really help :good: Sometimes the different colour can be natural. Bettafix and clean water will help though :good:

The new Male isn't in with the other male is it? Just thought I'd ask:)

Thanks for the welcome & advice!

@ Brozecat- NO, lol! He is in his own tank, the tanks are not even next to eachother. I'll make sure his water is clean.

@ sailornight6-Sorry, I can't get a picture, at least not for a couple of days....

I have figured out the problem! He is a tail-biter. How can I stop/distract him from doing this?
Also, How long should it take the tail to regrow?

what is his tank like? he might be bored. or stressed.
cheers
