First off, hi to every one. Got my self a proper tank (compared to my previous 1.5ft years back. Ive got a Rio Juwel 125 litre tank. Wanting to stock Guppies, pleco, siamese fighter, clown loaches, red tail shark and few other little fish like neons or cardinals.

Tank size is W - 80cm (32") D - 36cm (14") H - 40cm (16")

1 Will these fish mix?

2 Can i have a pleco in my tank?

3 Can i stock 3 clown loaches?

Much help will be appricated and thanks in advance...

:hi: to the Forum Bluegills

Good sized tank to start with, although a few choices won't be very good in there.

Guppies and Fighters don't mix well i'm afraid, the fighter will attack them thinking there another fighter

Pleco wise, theres definatley a fair few you can have which are listed HERE :) theres also some that grow to 20"+ which will not be suitable (common/sailfin to name a few)

Clown loaches will sadly outgrow your tank, although they are very slow growers so if you are planning a bigger tank i personally don't see a problem

Red tailed shark i have never owned so can't comment on them.

General commuity fish (tetras/danios/cories etc) will be good though :good:

Also you will probably need to read though cycling which can be found HERE

Thank you very much for repling. Ok stuck between guppies or the fighter now... what pleco would you advice me to get?? Also how slow are the clown loches at growing approx??

Thanks

i personally would go with guppies, a fighter would limit your other stocking choices alot

there are a lot of plecos, i personally have kept Bristlenose (pretty common so shouldn't be hard to locate some) there great plecos i kept my pair for 10 years

its really down to person preference with plecs as theres so many different ones

not sure how slow the clowns grow off the top of my head but i know its slow

if you google pleco it will show you some of the different ones, and the very big ones to avoid

yh i'm gonna choose guppies coz easier to breed. yh been on google for ages researching and getting tips. would really love a zebra pleco.. not many places keep them i heard. What other fish would u advise? after colour really.

the zebras are lovely aren't they but they retail at approx £100 each for a youngster :grr:

there are a lot of similar looking plecos though, i have an L052 (much bigger but same pattern and would suit you tank as it the same size as mine)

a nice big shoal of tetra has always been a favouite of mine although i don't have one myself, Rams are nice as are cories, gouramis to name a few

wicked, ur tank is same as mine?? how many fish u got in urs? yh im after about 20 neons or so :) n yes they r beautiful fish. BTW thanks for ur time

mine a Fluval, but its a 125 like yours :good:

i have a group of swordtails in mine instead of a shoal

20 neons or cardinals would look fab, especially if you decide to plant it

niceeee. yh planning on getting plants tommorrow. i read the cycling thread. do u think i should change the water tommorrow then? im kinda new to the serious side of keeping fish,.... before i just had a few guppies. do u think a pleco (small) would live happily in my tank? Im thinking. 1 pleco. 15 -20 neons. 5 guppies and some of them bottom feeding small cat fish thingys lol.

there the ones :) active little fish aint they. want some fish thats gonna get the bottom clean. Do u think i should change the water? ive had it running for 4 days and not changed water yet?
