Hi and welcome to the forum.

You dont say what equipment if any you have got for your new tank. What have you got ? Is the filter powerful enough for the new tank.

Personally, I would syphon some of the tank water out of your old tank into your new one and then top them both up with tap water and tapsafe or whatever dechlorinator you use. Add a new filter and heater to your new tank with a bit of filter media out of your old tank in it.
Leave it a few days to get up to the correct temperature and then do your water tests to make sure there are no problems. Maybe add some more water out of your old tank and then transfer the fish.

Thats my opinion and based on personal experience have never had a problem doing it that way. Others on here may have other opinions but at the end of the day its up to you really.

welcome to the board

whatever you do it may be worth you leaving tank to settle a few days before adding fish

good luck

I would fill up the new tank (don't forget dechlorinator) let it get up to temperature, then move over the filter, fish, any gravel or decor (if you can) from your 10gal. Leave your filter from the 10gal in the new tank for a couple of weeks to allow your beneficial bacteria to move to the new filter.

And, welcome to the Forum.
