Hi, is there any advantage to leave the top compartment of the filter empty?? I have 33g tank with live rocks, no fish yet. I also have a protein skimmer..

hey,
cant see any advantage, but if i had a eheim and it had a free
compartment, i think i would fill it with rowaphos

Jack, once cycled properly, your live rock and skimmer will handle all your filtration needs. Packing your canister with fresh floss once a week couldn't hurt though.
