Well i got rid of my parrots, and i think im gunna try the 1 severum idea again so im going to soon to get a female gold sev Will have pics after i get it

Nice one. Not really a sev fan, they are pretty boring as cichlids go but look pretty I suppose.

Yup there fine on there own, discus on the other hand are not. Well i will have some rainbows, rubberlip plec.

Sev's are quite placid as far as cichlids go, i kept mine with Jade eye cichlids, add more Severum with her too, what species is it your getting? Go for the Blue if you can find them, stunning species

Ikeepfish- I dont have a big enough tank for two sadly unless i gave one away after a few months.For 2 you need like a 80-90g i only have a 60g.

oh one more question. Would a severum be able to breed with a convict? i was thinking no,.

Yes a severum and convict will breed. After the last batch of rotkeils I raised, I removed the male (he was just the first one I caught) and the female spawned and had wrigglers, I saved a few because I wanted to know who the dad was turned out it was one of the convicts I had at the time. I kept one of the babies, the other 5 I gave away to friends, funny looking little thing it is!

You can deff. tell that has sev. in it cause of the orangge caudal fin .

& im loading a few pics right now sooo stay on for a few minutes

Crazy. It does seem to have red along the anal fin. Any close up pics? Do you still have it? (maybe post a new thread in the hybrid section so not to derail this one anymore lol).

If it wasnt for the black face and the covict stripe on the head it looks body shape severum, I think this is a female as its starting to get a blue patch in the middle, its only small still yet and the camera I borrow wont take a pic of it. Next time Minxy is over I will see if she can get a better pic of it.
