Hey all, Just bought a fish tank and have got it set up. It's a Moby Dick 25l, what type of fish would be suitable for a tank this size?

Hi and welcome :)

You could have a read of this pinned thread, regarding fish for a 10g tank, although yours is slightly smaller, it would be a good start for suggestions. Also what sort of fish do you like, let us know and Im sure people will be more than happy to advise you on numbers and suitability.

Also you should read the pinned topics on fishless cycling, as this will help you prepare the tank before adding fish. :)

your tank is approx 6 gal, so the same size as one of mine, currently i have a male betta or siamese fighting fish as they are commonly known and i am planing on adding either a few dwarf cories of a few ADFs, african dwarf frogs

What wattage heater do you use in it? Have you got any pics please?

I have a 25 watt heater and heres a pic although mine is a different shape, only got the plants today so they got some growing to do, and need a few more.

Cheers for the help. I've bought this heater for my tank:

No, it's thermostatically controlled. You just need to set your desired temperature on the dial at the top, and it'll automatically switch off if the water gets too warm.

hey there, welcome to the forum

i'm pleased to say you've made the best possible start in fishkeeping by coming and doing some research before just going out and buying fish! Have a good old nose around the pinned topics which will help you out tonnes with your research, a couple of links that will be useful to you are the 'step by step guide to setting up an aquarium' link from my signature and the 'guide to working out stocking lists'. Have a read of those in addition to the fishless cycling link earlier and you'll be well on your way :good:

Quick update, got two Penguin Tetra's, three Neon Tetra's, two Silvertip Tetra's, one Cobra Guppy and rock and plants.

Did you do a fishless cycle or did you use mature media in the filter for the cycle?

Yes, good looking tank! I agree with minx, will be interesting to hear about your cycling method and how your water stats are looking now. Are ammonia and nitrite holding at zero? Have you got a liquid-based test kit?

I did do a fishless cycle and ammonia and nitrate are fine. I've got the API master kit.
