Hexagonal Tanks Cruel?

Just been looking at tanks and searched for hexagonal tanks and stumbled across some other forum in which someone was having a rant about cruel how hexagonal tanks are and how they will make fish dizzy and ill. Seems a bit OTT to me, what do other people think?

I don't think they are,I have seen alot of good hexagon tanks that have turned out fine.saying thatthey are quite small in ground area so maybe not great for some fish...

I was looking for a tank suitable for a single dwarf puffer. I thought a 20l, or thereabouts, hexagonal would be ideal.

fish have eyes an a lateral line for a reason, and that is so they know where to swim! the eyes...well you know what they're for, and the lateral line senses pressure changes, so they can move around and avoid objects at the same time.

I've never heard anything so silly lol, how is a hex any different to a cylinder or rectangle?

I rather like the look of a hex. The only reason that I don't have one is that they do not fit well into tight spaces and my fish room is already becoming crowded with standard rectangular tanks stacked above each other.

I don't suppose that this person offered up any evidence of causing dizziness and illness did they?

I think that there is at least possibility as the corners of the hex tank do cause odd optical illusions, but whether that directly causes dizziness or illness I don't directly believe.

Someone just needs to run a hex tank and a rectangle tank of the same volume with some fish all from the same source in both and see if either tank has more illnesses than the other.
