i was thinking of new addition to my tank and my dad brought up frog. Anyone know anything about these and how they act, whats there temperment? what do they in the tank and anyone who has them have any comments? what are some good species?

Nate :) :)

I have 3 african frogs. They are quite entertaining at times. Kids really like them too.

I found they need their hiding spaces too and are not always the active one darting around the tank.

u only want ADFs(african dwarf frog)TRUST ME.the other species are highly predatory.ADFs have tried eating my dwarf puffers so thats not the best combo.overall they are very interesting frogs.i ha to give mine away recently though.

if you are planning to keep a frog with fish, i would suggest you get african dwarf frogs. they stay small and dont need any land. petsmart charges 6 dollars for one, but i got mine for 2 dollars each at my lfs. look around for a fish shop that has some.

well, adfs are almost blind so they will bite at anything

I tried adding one of those little frogs to my 20 gallon. My male CT Betta kept flaring and having a go at him so the frog was relocated to my 10gallon quarantine tank. He seems happy in there. I'll try in a few weeks or so.....who knows....they may get a long.

yes, you can keep it in a community tank. if you feed your fish live blackworms, itll be easy to feed the frogs. just throw in enough blackworms so alot make it to the bottom.

thats a good idea. they also will eat sinking cat fish pellets (or so i was told)

i personally don't own one YET. but i plan to in the near future.

i have aquestion would you be able to keep more than one in a tank?

like i want to get an albino one and a regular one (would they be ok in the same tank and will they possibly tag team on kiull my other fish?)

the albino one your talking about is an african clawd frog, the bad kind!

african dwarf frog is what you want and they only come as normal frog colour.

i have 4 in my 80G tank and i think there ace!!

really funny to watch.
