It is coming along. The plants are all from my 55 and 10.

The water wisteria, I have 4 stems of it in there, are cuttings I took out of the 10 gallon. It had gotten so big that it was sticking out of the water and falling over. I just snipped the branches off and planted them, along with root tabs, in the 75. I hope they do well.

One of them is a part of that stem plant, don't know what kind, that was in the 55. It had gotten so tall that it was also laying over in the water. It broke off, and I took the took the part that broke off and stuck it in the sand. It has already, just a weeks time, sprouted new leaves. So I hope it does well also.

I have some hornwort floating around in there and a few pieces that I have wrapped around the driftwood. I feel it will do well as the only thing I have seen that will kill it is black beard algae. LOL

I had heavy rocks setting on the wood to keep it from floating until last night. It is still where it is supposed to be this morning. So I guess it is soaked up enough to stay down.

I have river rocks and some gravel. In the front that big white rock is actually a hunk of quartz crystal and there is a clear small hunk over by the flat rock. Those pieces came from the Crystal Mine that is not far from where I live.
The purple that you see by the big hunk of quartz is a strip of Amethyst from the Diamond Mine, ( Arkansas ) that is not far from me. My daughter used to work there and she brought it to me. I have had it for awhile and thought it would be a nice addition to the tank.

Well anyway, there it is! It is not cycled and I am not finished planting, but it is coming along nicely I think.

I want Pictus Catfish. I don't know what else since it seems so hard to find something that be in the tank with them. But I have always wanted them, and this 75 has been years in the making, just for a school of them. I built the stand it is on in 2007....so yeah, years in the making, and I will have Pictus!!! LOL

idk if they are compatible with pictus catfish, but guppies look very good (not a bunch though) in an aquascaped tank, I didn't believe until 1 time I tried it myself, I got 5 guppies in a 5 gallon Very well planted Co2 aquascaped tank, and they basically made the tank! and I don't even like guppies that much lol

Love the look of your tank! I can't wait to see your pictus cats when you finally get them! Those are amazing looking fish! Ive always loved how they looked! I had one before in a ten gallon with three tiger barbs and some zebra danios....was my favorite fish. And this was way way way before I knew proper care! Obviously I won't be doing that again! Lol.

I am afraid the pictus would eat a guppy. I am told they will eat neon tetras.

Although, speaking about way way way back for me, I had a pictus catfish in a 20 gallon tank along with all kinds of fish and I don't remember ever having a problem with it. I am sure I won't try it again though. I knew nothing back then.

I want the plants to grow in some and get settled in the sand before adding the catfish. When I get the plants growing in nicely, I will begin to cycle...if I can be patient for that long. LOL

Your tank is looking great and will only get better as you add additional items and your plants fill in...

75 gallons is without a doubt my favorite size tank - not too big - not to small - and a footprint that provides tons of great options.

Look forward to seeing updates.
