help!

I brought a gfew guppies and noticed 1 had a scratch on it , it now looks as though it has cotton wool growth on it, so i terated the tank with finrot and fungus number 8 treatment but my clown loaches are behaving differently, more alert could this be a problem?

I used interpet no. 8 treatment on my tank and 2 of my catfish died overnight. I have used this before when I didnt have them and it worked fine as it should. I followed the instructions to the letter as well so maybe bottom dwelling fish like cats and loaches are adversly affected by this treatment.
Keep an eye on them and if they get worse move them to another tank without the treatment. I did this with my 2 surviving pictus catfish and they revived and behaved normally within minutes.

it could be if you didnt quarantine the new fish. keep an eye out for any signs of illness. dont know about the loaches though but some meds cant be used for some types of fish, did you check the label for that?

yea i read it but said nothing about not using it with certain fish, like you say i will have to just keep an eye, thanks

clown loach skin r very sensetive so when ever u treat them with treatment you should only use half of the dose. I only use half the dose for clown loaches white spot. Same thing applys to any other disease.

I have already done it, but i will remember that for next time Does that mean if i half the dose it will still work effectively?
Also my guppy which has the problem is pregnant and her poo is very pale and stringy any ideas?

yes u only use half of what ever midican when u got clown loach its better under use then over use, under use you could still add more after if disease isn't cure you have to do alot of water change if u over use. If I were u I would take some water from ur tank and put guppy or loach to a heal tank depend on number tho(which have smaller number take them. Then you could treat them with the amount that could cure them with out worring about the other get harm or not enought.

The fish that hadn't died were floating on there side trying swim the correct way. It looked as though they were oxygen starved and their swimbladders were effected as well.
These were the final stages though as I hadnt seen them for 6 hours or so. I cant really be sure what the first symptoms were as I never saw them.

Need to no test results in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate,and ph, what size tank, fish stock and which type and how many, where is the scratch on the fish with the fluffy fungus.
