I have 4 male guppies in a 29 gallon tank, and recently their fins have been getting shredded! Look at my sig to get a run down of the other fish in the tank. I dont know what to do, I have some really good looking males and I am uber upset! What fish do you think is shredding their fins???

I think its just the fact that you have 4 males in the same tank. Ive looked at your sig and cant see anything there Jezah.

There is a male to female ratio for mollies that i also apply to guppys and pretty much all livebearers. That is 1 male to 3 females. This is too reduce compition and reduce bulying and pressure on the females.

U cant add anymore fish, so maybe upgrade, or move some of your males.

Zebra Danios are known fin nippers, they should be kept in a shoal of at least 6 to keep their aggression down. Once in a big shoal, they'll be very active and still 'being danios" (chasing with the occasional nip) but tend to do it to eachother and leave the other fish alone.

My bet is on them, I seriously recommend either giving them away or getting another 4/5 danios.

I had 4 danios before and I got rid of the two aggresive ones, the ones left are pretty placid. The females are actually not in the tank right now, as they are preggo. I just put on back in as she gave birth to a bunch of fry, and I think she is done. Will having a female in their diffuse some agression between males???

P.S Ferrikins, your link is a dead link.
