Hi hope someone can help. I have had my Betta for about 3 weeks now and he is great. He is living in a 32 litre tank with my Corydoras. I fed them all yesterday and then did a small water change. I did not take much notice this morning when I put the lights on but this evening when I came home and went to feed them his fins are in tatters. He seems happy enough swimming about and he is feeding just his poor tail. I have tested water and Amonia is 0 and nitrite is 0 and Nitrate is 10 as it always is. I used a different chlorine remover do you think it could be that although my other tank is fine and I used it in there. Will it grow again.

I'm not too sure of Cories are aggressive or not but if they aren't maybe your betta chewed up his own tail, apparently, it's not that rare -_-

corydoras arent agressive. are there any sharp edges eg rocks or plastic plants which he could've caught his tail on?

There are no sharp edges in the tank just a piece of drftwood with weed growing on it. This morning he still seems to be fine and his tail is no different. The tatters are even all the way along his fins not like a rip or someones torn them. His body is fine and so is his colour, no sign of any fungus. When the light goes out and I watch him he always seems to lay on the bottom of the tank as if he is sleeping and there is gravel at the bottom but that has always been there since I have had him.
