After watching James findley I'm selling my current set up so I can upgrade to a 4ft optiwhite tank as I really want a iwagumi set up . I've got a FE co2 system and will be using 2 tetratec ex1200 would I be able to use sand instead of the substrates he uses ? Would I need to add anything else along with the co2? How do you keep the glass do clean with substrate banked up the side?

All help is appreciated

Adding co2 will mean that you have to add ferts, even more so if you use an inert sand.
4' is a big tank to dose an all in one on.Dry salts will be the cheapest option
Check out post #2 My link. other sellers are available

Ahh right thanks stu, with the dry salts do you just mix them straight it to the water ? Or do you ad water too them and then add to the tank ?

You can do either to be honest, depends on how lazy you are.
On my main tank, hard water, no co2.I add Potassium Nitrate & Monopotassium Phospate & trace once a week.
Measure the salts with measuring spoons (cheap from a cookshop) into a small bottle, add some tank water, shake & chuck back into the tank, into the flow.
