hi everyone.

Next wed. I go home for thanksgiving break. i live in a dorm and they want everything unplugged and off for the weekend. we're out of here from wednesday to sunday. I'm really not sure what to do with my tank because of the plants. I can take home the fish easily enough. but should i also take home the plants? or should i just let them set in the tank for a few days with no light?

i have a spare 10 gal. at home, so i'll be able to put the fish in that, and the plants if that's the best thing to do.

i'm pretty bummed cause i just started using excel and things are growing well, and now they are all gonna get screwed up and melt..

You can easily buy a switch that turns on and off the light at whatever time you set it. You plug your light/hood cord into it, then plug it into the wall. You pick what time it turns on and off. I would be worried more about the filter and beneficial bacteria dying.
