i need help with my angels.

Iv had my angels for about 7 - 8 years now. they have got sick and iv taken care of them and brought them back to normal many times. but recently about a few days ago, 5 - 6 days both of them have stopped eating. on the 3rd day they use to try and eat but spit the food back out anyway. iv also tried other foods such as dried worms, and frozen brine shrimp, but no luck.
the bigger angel seems to be sitting on the bottom on the tank these few days, not eating and his lower anal fin seems to be a bit bent due to sitting on the bottom for so many days. both the angels are not eating and i cant afford to loose them. they have been with me for so long. Please help.

iv tried general medicines but no luck. i just purchased a internal bacteria solution by interpret yest. and put it into the tank. they said to give the tank a 2nd dose after 4 days with 50% water change.
do i wait for this or must i do something now ?please help.
specific medication is impossible to find in this country.
please help anyone ..... i will try to post soe pics of them here in a few mins ..... please help

here are some pics ..... PLEASE HELP asap

the lower angel is pretty bad. but they both wont eat anything.

Sorry mate, much as I'd like to help you there's not much I can say. It's either an infection, in which case the meds will resolve it. Or it's old age. Or it's some other factor that I'm really too out of touch in the business to remember. I hope someone else more knowledgeable than myself will come along to help you out.

Hi sharbel
Can you post some stats? Ph - Amonia - Nitrate - Nitrite.

is there enough aeration?

Have you added anything new to the tank?

Have you fed them anything different before they got like this?

It could be old age as angels live around the 10yr mark normaly.
or
it could be a parasite or bacterial infection.

Wilder will be online shortly and she is a very knowledgeable person and will be more of use in terms of
medication etc.

Regards
Scott

well i havent checked any ph levels or anything really. i never have done these tests for them. just once a week water change without fail.

it could be an internal bacterial parisite, cauz even if they were old shoudnt they still eat ?

aeration is ok i guess with the just the filter running, the same since years now. just a few months back i removed the gravel, dead plants etc due to growth of snails. i just added 2 clown loach's and a sucker cleaner to clean up the uneaten food they leave around. the tank is much cleaner now, but their still not eating.
the bigger angel is still most of the time on the bottom, swims with its mouth facing upward sometimes.

thanks scott.

it sounds bacterial but need to check there no signs of internal parasites.

What does it look like when the fish to to the toilet.
is the anus enlarged or red and inflamed.
Any worms prutruding from the anus.
Do the fish swim on there sides.

They don't look skinny or bloated in the pic, or have sunken in bellys.

What do the fish gills look like.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.

Soak there food also in garlic juice to stimulate appetite and boost the immune system.

1.i dont think their doing the toilet either. as they've not eaten for days now. no poo seen at all.
2.the anus or place the poop from, it does seem a bit red. i will try to take out some close pics right now n post it.
3.no worms seem to be seen there. i forgot to mention, my tank did have some white hair like worms forming on the glass. i dont know where they came from. that made me to dispose the gravel, plants and everything a few months back. but it returned a month ago. i left it for some time but i got the clown loach's now and the sucker fish. they dont seem to be there now. is this he problem?
4. the fish dont swim on the sides. they seem ok. most of the time sitting at the bottom of the tank.
5. the bigger angel is flicking his fins, back tail much much faster than the other angel.thats when i came to knw something was wrong.

if i do soak the food. they dont seem to eat and spit it out either now. their not trying. they'v stopped.

please HELP

thankyou wilder

the bigger angel also seems to have Red fins between the fin and the body.

Ok.

I think I would worm your fish with wormer plus. They seem to be showing some internal parasite signs. It's best to worm fish anyway.

The hair like worms did they have forked tails.

Red inflamed anus can be internal parasites, dropsy, constipation.

Dried foods can lead to constipation.

Do you keep any livebearers.

Flicking and spitting food out can also point towards internal parasites.

i have to find these medicine. its hard to find any medicine here. is there any worm treatment by interpret ? these is a store here selling just this brand. i just bought a anti bacterial infection med which i just put a little last night. the guy said to wait for 4 days, change 50% water and dose again. do u think i should do this and wait even longer or get a worm med ?

please advice...

thankyou again

You can only buy this med online.

Interpet dosn't do an internal worming med as far as I know.

Sera Nematol

Sera Nematol is a very effective remedy against nematodes such as Camallanus, roundworms (Capillaria) and discus pinworms (oxyurids) for fresh and salt water fish. A sensational R & D success: sera med Professional Nematol is the first ornamental fish treatment against Nematodes that may be sold freely. It is based on a patented Emamectin/solvent complex, highly effective and easy to dose. sera med Professional Nematol is particularly effective against Camallanus and round worms of the genus Capillaria, which mainly occur in angelfish and discus. It can also be optimally used against pinworms (Oxyurida), dreaded by discus keepers. At the same time it combats the small copepods that Camallanus uses as intermediate hosts. Result: With sera Nematol a well tolerated and highly effective ornamental fish treatment that can be sold freely is now available for the first time! It is a liquid and therefore can be dosed easily and precisely.

Dosage for sera Nematol:

Add 1 ml sea Nematol per each 40 litres of aquarium water. Distribute the treatment on the watrer surface from the dosage cup while stirring it into the water with a spoon or staff. Aerate the aquarium well during the treatment, switch off UV-lamps and do not filter through active carbon. A water change of at least 80% must be carried out after two days (or during the treatment if the water gets cloudy). You can combat larvae that have hatched from the eggs in the meantime with a second application of sera Nematol three weeks later.

ok i will try to get this asap ...

but is it a worm for sure ? i hope it is.
i just tried to feed them again but their not even trying.
this is hard
would daily water changes be better or bad for this ? around 10 - 20 % water change ?

thankyou,

I would just carry on with the bacterial med.
If water stats are fine I wouldn't bother with water changes.
Soak there food in garlic juice.

Sorry I forgot they were 8 yers old. have you added any new fish lately.

is there a way i can force them to eat ? their not attempting to even try it.

the bigger angel seems to be loosing energy... what can i do

yes - just yest. i bought a pair of clown loach's and a sucker fish also known as a cleaner fish to eat the left over food from the bottom...

Ok.
You can force feed fish but I don't know how to do it.
I would contact tolak he very good.
