 Hi, i have a 47gallon fish tankan have:- 1 Dwarf guarmie (colisa lalia), 2 orange mollies, 3 scissor tailed rainbows, 1 Baby Pleco, 2 Honey Guarmies , 2 tiny silver fish (look similar to a silver shark) And 2 Rams.
I have notices yesterday that the 2 rams have a couple of salt grains on them(no other fish in my tank has this). so i have put them in my Quaratine tank today.
I have also done a 50% water change (gravel vac too).
I have highered the temp in my main aquarium to 32 Centigrade (is this ok?) and the temp in the quarantine tank is 30centigrade..

What shud i do now?

Shud i treat both tanks with treatment or just the quarantine tank? shud i use salt in both tanks or just the quarantine tank? will my fish withstand the temp..plus could they withstand the salt? just unsure what to do right now

Advice Please...thanks x

Best to just treat the main tank for whitespot. as they whole tank need medicating.
Have you added a whitespot med.
Increase aeration as the med and high temp reduce 02 in the water.
Remove black carbon from filter if you use it.
Make sure you can use the full dose with the fish you keep.

Can you put a pic onto the board of the fish that look like silver sharks.

This is the fish..Its a Megalamphodus..Dunno what the name is when ya buy one from an aquarium lol.. So i shud treat the main tank..what about the quarantine tank?? Is the temp ok?

Post the fish pic in tropical discussion they will tell you what type of fish it is.

I would medicate the main tank aswelll.

Hi, found out what they are..Black Phantom Tetra haha! so i'm going to treat my tank now..do i still do water changes? or leave it?

Personally I'd do a 30-40% water change then medicate and don't water change for the course of the meds (unless you get any ammonia spikes of course)

Well yesterday i done a 30% water change an today i done a 50% water change.. so shud i treat BOTH tanks..? i have product called Protozin

Treat both tanks or put the fish back in the main tank and match ph and temp.
