when i got home today my female fighter was stuck dwn the back of the fillterit could of been dwn there for a while as wen i looked quickly in the morning i didnt see it but i got it out easly but when i got it out i noticed one of its eyes is really swollen and she cant move her eye is she blind?
apart from that she looks fine shes lost her couler a bit but swimming around ok but i put her in a breeding trap because the other fish kept chasing her and niping her
will she be ok? is there any think i can do?
and i cant get no pictures my camras broke

she could have hidden down there as she was being attatcked by the other fish

what fish is she in with ?,
what size tank is she in ?

shes in a 54l with guppies and mollies and glowlight tetras they are no normaly agressive to hers ive had her for over a mounth now and i have found she dose like to wedge herself in small gaps i alway find he dwn the back of the heater and inbetween stones and things

She sounds like she is not very well at all! :(

I find when my normally social fish begin to attack other specimens, it means the chased fish is rather sick. Losing colour is not a great sign either. Is she eating alright?

shes eating fine and swimming round well and shes starting to get her colour bk i think it might of just been stress because she could of been dwn there for a couple of hours

maybe..although it's seems a bit odd..

It really doesnt seem ideal, you could do with getting her in her own tank with clean water and maybe some anti bac meds. if she's hiding she is likely to be scared , she may not be being chased but its not normal for a betta to hide away as you described "wedged" its not healthy for her to be hiding away and injuring herself. could you move her into her own tank?

ill have to try and convince my mum into lettin me have another tank
but i know you said there must be somethink wrong with her but she eats well and looks really helth and i have naver seen the other fish do anythink to he

if you have male guppys in the tank they cant help but chase anything and attempt to mate with it , it's not aggressive but the betta still might be scared by them
mollies can get quite agressive so watch them aswell
have you got many plants in the tank so she has a chance to hide?

As said.....she would be much better in a tank of her own in crystal clear water to give her eye a chance to heal.

The thing is that although you might not see any aggression in the tank you don't know what's happening at lights out when everyone goes to bed.

Good luck with her :good:

How many other fish do you have in the tank? If not too many then you might be able to divide the tank giving her a section of her own.
