I wouldnt worry about it - I crush snails and feed them to my rams shell and all on a regular basis. You will find they chew them for ages and then spit out the shell. They adore them as a treat and its a good way of keeping the snail population down! Mine feed from my hand!

oh cool, yeh hes choked it down now, i shall feed them more often, i love my rams, great personality they all get on really well, and they are on of the most stunning and colourful FW fish IMO

They are my favourite fish as well and they are very intelligent. When mine see me they swim over to a snail and stare hard at it waiting for me to pick it out and crush it! They also sulk and lose thier colour if I dont pay them enough attention!

Have you tried feeding yours tinned tuna fish? Mine love it - whenever I have a sandwich I give them a little. They also love minced beef and tiny shredded pieces of cooked prawn.

 awesome, i shall feed them now, ive been feeding them:

crushed snails
cichlid pellets}Hikari
micro pellets}as above
blood worms
daphnia

and i will try what you suggest

Just buy some frozen blocks that you get in the LFS, no chance of your sister getting those.

Yep, should be in the fridge part with the bloodworms, brineshrimp etc, although saying that only some of the LFS nr me do the prawns, so you might need to look about.

If you get fresh ones from the supermarket, just make sure you break it up into small pieces for them.

Mine will try anything but funnily enough the only thing they wont eat is cichlid food!
