Hello everyone,

I am after a little advise regarding my new fish tank, I have just bought a fish r fun tank with a built in filter and light. It is 1.6gallons (7 L) and I was wondering how many fish I would be able to fit in it, cos I am thinking it is rather small…

Also I was wondering what other things I could put in it, as I want to make it a very nice fish tank :good:

Any help would be good!!

Thank in advance xx

Ps – I have cold water fish

are you saying you already have cold water fish...or you're wanting cold water fish?
(i am having a slow day btw ;))

I can tell i'm not very good at this :-(

is there anyway you can take photos and put them online? :)
Usng a mobile phone even maybes?

That tank is a bit small for anything but a Betta, honestly. I would look into a 10 gallon, minimum, for those goldfish. I used to keep goldfish when I was younger and if they are given room to grow, they will become very pretty fish.

Good Luck

goldfish of that type need 20 gal for the first then 10 gal after that, really the only thing that would be happy in that tank would be a betta aka siamese fighter fish, like in my avi :good:

What is a Betta??

Will my fish i have now really not like it in there?

it will stunt there growth giving them fatal healthy problems later in life as well as a short lifespan, annd they are high waste producers so would need to be cleaned daily, my betta is in my side pic

lilfishie has a betta in the avatar picture on the left. Those are the fish you see in the pet stores in those little butter containers.

Your fish will suffer from stunted growth, which will lead to their death ultimately. Goldfish are very cool, and fun to watch, provided they have enough room. Unfortunately, with them, they will cause the bioload of the tank to go up tremendously. Your fish won't die tomorrow, but they won't be as comfortable as you would want them to be. I would say, get a bigger tank when you can. If you have a Petsmart or Petco around, you should be able to get a combo kit from All Glass Aquarium, that includes the tank, filter, lights. The only thing you will need is a heater, depending on where you live as fas a temperature range during the winter, and gravel. Once you have that up and running, your fish will thank you. ;)
