I have 1 black molly(female), 1 black and orange molly(female) , 1 dalmation molly(male) and 1 bright yellow molly(male).

The 2 males are just after the black molly and fighting for her so she can t take it anymore and could die.

The olher molly(black and orange) is without a male alone.

I thought the males would be mating with the two females!!!!!!!!!!!

ANY SUGGESTIONS???????????

you should keep them at a ratio of 2/3 females to every one male, other wise this happens, have you got anything you could seperate her in to give her a break?

But why are they just fighting for one if I have two???????????

either she may be pregnant and they are trying to make her give birth so they can have a lil snack or the other female may already be pregnant, how are they 'fighting'

If you have a breeding net put her in there. They then may go after the orange female after that. When you have time go and buy a new female. Just out of interest, is the orange molly a sailfin molly? Or are the othe 3 sailfins and the orange on just a molly? :good:

I'd say its natural selection at work (i dunno) she's the best specimen so they're competing for her affection? You can see it at work in most pubs every weekend.....
From the earlier suggestion being passed by does that mean you can't afford another molly?

I have tried separating the female but the still dont mate with the orange one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well keep her seperated and let her rest. Is she a sailfin molly? Im sorry if I offend you by asking but alot but most people make that mistake. A sailfin molly and a normal molly are different species. They wont breed. :good:

I can aford another molly but what if they still go for the black one.

Besides my tank is kinda full of fishes.(according to its capacity)

Thanks for the replies!!!!!!!!!!!

actually they will breed as will saifin and balloon, its just a variation they are still the same species and in the same family so will breed, as will swordtails and platies

maybe then you could swap a male for another female? or get a refund on a male?

can you describe exactly what they were doing to the other female?

The males are swimming very fast like they're chasing her but they want to mate and when the black molly is tired they lift her back and mate with her!!!!!!!!!!

what sort of molly is she ie balloon, sailfin, normal?
and is there a possibility she could be pregnant?
how long have you had them?
are they trying to mate with her or just nuzzling her bottom?
