:-( help :-( help :-( help :-( my favorite female guppy had a brightly colored red poo. i dont kno if it was from blood. then i noticed the tip of her fin is like limp (it isnt spread out like the rest) and on the side of her body i can see internal bleeding. please she was my first guppy ever :-(

it may be best to post this in fish emergencies im sure you will get quicker replys there so you can hopefully save your little guppy, best of luck :( :good:

Have you been feeding and red foods like bloodworms, if she has bleeding on one side its septicemia, i would isolate her,a s septicemia they can release the bacteria into the tank.
The red poo does it look like a worm, also check her anus to see if it looks enlarged or red and inflamed.

the internal bleeding is on one side but her poo looks just like red poo with sometimes a small red rock looking poo i have been just feeding her flakes

it realy dosnt look like the pictures in that artical. it is just like a red line down her body not blotches

Septicemia

Symptoms:

Fish may have reddening at fin bases, blood streaks throughout the fins and body, small hemorrhages around the eyes. Dull listless behavior and lack of appetite may also be present.

Issolate her sad to say she not going to make it, even if its an ice cream box at the top of the tank, she got alot going on with her, when she dies see if any red worms come out of her body.

thanks

but you think even if it isnt that diseas she will still die?

She has internal bleeding look under septicemia.

Even if you got a strong antibiotic now the chances are slim, septicemia is very hard to cure once it has progressed.
You need to get your fish on a better diet of frozen foods and veg, they won't be healthy just on flakes.

Guppys are very prone to these and they can cause bacterial infections on top.

This is the best advice i can give you, don't add anymore fish as if she does have internal parasites the rest will, this is going to sound awful but they will all die, strip the tank down, sterlise everything, and start again. My advice is to stay away from guppys from the lfs they are deseased and usually on the way out when you are buying them, if you really want to keep them find a local good breeder of them, or think of setting your tank up with more hardy fish like some tetras.
I would recommend a fishless cycle.

i posted about the whitish mucusy poo in another thread and everyone thought she was giving birth
i didnt think so but i havnt had fish for a long time
i wish someone would have told me that that was the problem before it was too late

she is still alive for the time being

i moved all of my toher fish into a new tank and they look fine are they still going to die?

If she doing poo that are red that look like blood, it sounds like internal parasites, usually you have to destroy the sick fish, then sterlise the tank, and the others ones should make it, you can get a med but its very hard to get hold of plus usually they get bacterial infections on top, as they are nasty parasites and they damage the fish internally, so even the med dosn't always save them.
