HELP!

i have to kill my black molly she is lying on the bottom and well she's dying and looks like she's in a lot of pain i read the euthanization thing but there is no way i can bash her brains out........sorry......is there any other way to end it? plz help me

Can you get hold of some clove oil? It was a method discussed last month on the group. I was sceptical, but what the guy said made sense. Euthanasia discussion.

Some people recommend putting the fish in cold water and ice and then into the freezer. I read an article which sai the fish can still feel pain when the water inside begins to crystalize but Im not sure the fish is really concious at that stage.
Clove oil is also recommended by some people, in a strong solution with water.
If you dont have any clove oil, I cant really blame you for the freezer option as it seems more humane, the cold water supposedly slows down metabolism and the fish falls unconcious quite quickly...

Dont quote me on this but i've heard you can use vodka mixed with some water and put your fish in the bowl and it wil put it to sleep before eventually dying, might be worth asking a few more people first, i dont have the experiance to tell you to do it or how but i have heard about this method, sorry to hear about ya fish

well thanks everyone but thankfully she passed away as i waited for my mom to bring my car back. i didn't have to put her down she just died on her own.......

I'm sooooo sorry for you...I know exactly how you feel, my black molly Billy (rest him) was really poorly too and I had to kill him to put him out of the pain. I filled a large tub of water and put him in it, then put it in the freezer...a lot of people don't agree with that method, but he swam around for a bit, then slowly got slower and then gradually went unconscious. :'(

From the discussions that people were having on here people seem to believe that it's when the fish come in contact with Ice that they feel pain, so I made sure to be careful that the water didn't freeze...

I was the same and couldn't face spiking him, or bashing him, so I decided that this was the best thing to do...after all, they lower the temperature of humans until their heart stops or slows sufficiently in order that they can work on their eart, so I feel that if it;s good enough for us, then it's good enough for him.

If you need any more advice let me know...is horrible I know, good luck!
