Yes, move the male back. Otherwise the male will either;
Constantly follow the female in an attempt to make her abort her fry so he can eat them, or;
Just overall stress her out by trying to mate with her. This can cause the female to have birthing difficulties, abort her fry, or in extreme cases...die.
Of course, frequent moves are inadvisable, this time it's ok. However, will the ten become a rearing tank? And if so, can you keep both guppies in the 40 until the fry are big enough to join them (i.e. stress on female with too many males).
