My thick lipped gourami is extreamly bloated and his scales look like a pine cone-sticking out. He seems to be eating but is spending a lot of time laying at the bottom of the tank. Does anyone know what might be wrong with him? :-(
Sorry im new to this !

sounds like your fish has dropsy , I never had any luck curing a fish that had it .

try posting in the emergencies forum , you'll get more responses there than here

so dropsy is not treatable, what do we do,seperate him from the female he lives with?or let him live out his days as happy as possible,he still plays with her, is there nothing we can do!thanks for all your replys,t.k
