I am a total beginner. I won (had to buy actually) 2 goldfish at the fair for my twins aged 3yrs.
Cut long story short bought a tank from the local rag and inherited another goldfish (with bulbous eyes and a flowing tail)
Anyway all was well for 2 weeks. Bought some plants, and filter/pump all set up.
This morning i noticed adopted fish sulking on bottom of tank and other fish having a peck. I took him out and gave him some medical drops the previous owner had told me to use if he looked a bit out of sorts. Now he is in a different tank on his own with plants to hide in but i noticed a red thing coming from his rear end (sorry to be ignorant of terminology here) Please can anyone help - the pet shop where he originated from i telephoned and they said he is on his way out.
