This is definitely a first for me :/
I found this little delta tail betta at petco the other day.. I couldn't help but get him. He was in a horrid state by the time I got him home.

I kept in a quarrantine tank for 3 days.. it was about 3/4 of a gallon.
I put him in his 3 gal a few days ago. :/ In there he has a chinese algae eater to keep him company and a couple of ghost shrimp.
The temp stays around 76F and the stats are clear.

He just hides underneath a little cup all day long?

Also.. He won't eat anything except blood worms : /

I need help.
Should I put him back in the quarrantine tank?

Or give him more time to adjust?

This is Zeus.

How big is the chinese algae eater, is he wary of it? Also, how fast is the water moving, Mine hid when the water was to much for him till I turned down the filter flow.

Give him time if he was a bad state in the pet shop and used to a tiny space all that room is very daunting. Id keep him on the blood worm to boost his immune system and get some fat on him and dose with general tonic medication to prevent any infection that could occur whilst he is stressed Im sure he'll be ok in a couple of weeks - regardless he is beautiful

I have a whisper filter in there. for 2.5-3 GAL. And there's a silk plant in the way of the flow.

The algae eater is about 1 inch or 1.5 inches. Zeus doesn't pay much attention to the algae eater[bradley]

I will take your advice wilson!! thanks!! :D

Cheers Heygetsmart Id also give him half a shelled boiled pea now once a week or once every two weeks just to ensure he doesnt become constipated :good:

Add some live plants, bettas love to swim through them and rest on the leaves at the surface, he may even "stalk" the bloodworms by the plant, it would be fun for him. :)

Good news!!!!!! Before the hubby and I went to sleep last night he realized that Zeus wasn't in his usual hiding place... And instead swimming around! Exploring the place! He also ate a couple of the betta pellets this morning! It was absolutely epic. I also went to petsmart after work and purchased some anachris! He's finally feeling at home.
