I've just ordered a large amount of plants from a online company which arrived in a terrible state. Lots of the plants had brown ends to the leaves, many looked crushed and the grassy type was so little in amount that after spreading it out it covered very little of my tank. I was so upset that I almost pulled them all out last night.

I'm looking for anyone who has purchased plants online for a recommendation.

Many thanks
Joanna

Care to name and shame?

I've ordered plants before from ebay (user: last-trading-post), aquaessentials.co.uk, and zooplus.co.uk. Everything I've bought has been fine from these, although the zooplus order took a while to arrive (shipped from Germany, I believe).

Your plants might not be beyond saving though - give them a week or two and some proper care, and they may yet pull through.

Aquaessentials and TheGreenMachine are very good indeed. Not the cheapest though.

Don't forget that a lot of plants you order are grown emersed, and will lose a lot of their foliage when submerged in the tank anyway, so the ones you have aren't necessarily a disaster.

ebay (user: last-trading-post), as stated above, i ordered lots from this guy to set up my new tank, cant fault him on packaging and quality!
selection some what limited tho!

I have ordered from aquaessentials and found them to be fantastic, however expensive!

I don't really want to name the shop I purchased from as it may have been the posting that damaged them.

I phoned aqua essentails for some advise and they were really helpful and has put my mind at rest and I'm back to being like a child in a sweet shop again. I will have a beautifully planted tank.

Once it's done I shall get a photo on the forum.

green machine is second to none with quality and packaging but they are pricey, plants alive have a great selection and are very cheap, packaging is not good though - i recieved some yesterday that were in a plastic bag inside a standard envelope, they were in bad shape - another tenner down the drain.

It's worth mentioning that Aqua Essentials is getting in AquaFleur plants which are quite a bit cheaper than their usual Tropica plants, but still excellent quality :)
